Learning to See

This week we read an excerpt from the book "Visual Poetry" (Orwig, C. 2010). In this excerpt Orwig talked about how we need to learn to see. Every day when we open our eyes things come slowly into shape, we see these things, totally unaware of how miraculous this is. It is like only half opening our eyes. We look at things but we are not really seeing them. Learning to see is looking at the same things we look everyday from a different perspective and in this way discovering something new.

New Tip

Try this: on your way to school, if you are driven, look out the window at the same things you see everyday and try "seeing" something you never noticed before. Something that can make a good image. If you walk to school is even better...do the same and pretend you take a picture.
NOTE: even better if you take the photo!
